Would you like to adopt a wild horse or burro? The  Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse & Burro Program adoption event began yesterday, and runs through Dec. 14.

Due to the recent drought, wild horses and burros have been faced with little access to fresh water. The Wild Horse and Burro Program's goal is to manage healthy wild horses and burros on healthy public ranges.

The nearest pick-up location is at the BLM's Ridgecrest Corrals.
