This week, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced a $12 million project that will expand five miles of roadway between the Nevada border and the California Department of Food and Agriculture Station.

The project, which begins mid-Spring 2022, is intended to ease traffic congestion during peak hours of holiday traffic to and from Las Vegas.

Funding is provided by California State Highway account resources. Anticipated completion is the end of summer 2022.
