San Bernardino County Regional Parks and San Bernardino County Library are teaming up for a special "Wilderness Wednesday" presentation about the elusive desert tortoise. Several fun events are planned this afternoon, July 7, including an animal presentation at 2 p.m., a tortoise craft at 4 p.m., and a 6 p.m. resource session. Everything will be shown live on their Facebook page today.

San Bernardino County Regional Parks is also hosting “Teddy Bear Picnic Day” on July 10. This is a national park holiday designed to encourage youth and their families to get outdoors and enjoy a picnic with their favorite teddy bear. To participate, visit one of our beautiful First District Regional Parks (Calico Ghost Town, Mojave Narrows, Moabi Regional Park or Mojave River Forks) and snap a photo of a small picnic with your teddy bear. Submit the photo and release form to  events@parks.sbcounty.gov with subject line “Teddy Bear Picnic Day Photo Contest.” Deadline to submit is 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 13.
