Neighborhood Cleanup, Hazardous Waste Collection events planned in First District

San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and Solid Waste Management Divisions are hosting a neighborhood cleanup in Apple Valley from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, January 16. This program is limited to residents of the unincorporated County area. Acceptable items include household trash, bulky items, green waste and vehicle tires.

The Urban Conservation Corps will be accepting electronics such as TVs, microwaves, computer monitors, etc. Commercial and industrial waste from businesses will not be accepted. Hazardous waste must be disposed by calling (800) 645-9228.

This event is by appointment only. Please call (909) 266-3477 by January 15, 2021. The cleanup will take place at the San Bernardino County Public Works Yard, located at 11923 Joshua Road, Apple Valley.

County Fire plans Hazardous Waste collections

San Bernardino County Fire Department is hosting two Household Hazardous Waste Collection events in the First District. 

  • On February 27, the collection will be held from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Needles City Yard, located at 112 Robuffa Street in Needles.
  • On March 13, the collection will take place from 8 a.m. until noon at the Trona County Fire Station, located at 83732 Trona Road in Trona.

Residents may drop off household hazardous waste items such as antifreeze, electronics, batteries, oil, oil filters, cosmetics, pesticides, and much more. Please do not transport more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds in containers larger than 5 gallons. Containers must be sound and not leaking.
