Searles Valley Minerals in Trona Celebrates 150 Years This Week

Congratulations to Searles Valley Minerals, which celebrated 150 years in business on Tuesday. Based in Trona, Searles Valley Minerals is one of the longest-standing, continuous-mining operations in the United States, dating back to 1863!

The company processes brine solutions from Searles Lake to produce boric acid, sodium carbonate, sodium sulfate, sodium bicarbonate, and specialty forms of borax, potassium sulfate and salt.

Douville said that Searles Valley Minerals ships 2 million tons of products annually to customers in 53 countries.
