Community Cleanups Planned Throughout the First District

The next Hesperia Neighborhood Beautification Day is September 15. This is a free opportunity to get rid of unwanted furniture, appliances, and more. Click here for more details and a full list of accepted items.

Town of Apple Valley is hosting its annual Community Cleanup Day on September 17. Schools, clubs, churches and individuals are invited to participate in cleaning up designated areas of town. Free tire drop off will be offered between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lions Park, located at 20701 Hwy 18. For more information, call (760) 240-7000 ext 7879.

The Trona Community is having its annual community cleanup from 8 a.m. until noon on Sept. 24. This is being done in conjunction with hazardous waste disposal that can be dropped off at the fire station. For more information, email here.

The Wrightwood Property Owner’s Association is hosting a trail beautification project to enhance the Village Trail. A minimum of 30 volunteers of all ages are needed to assist from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Oct. 1. Volunteers will meet at Hollis Stewart Park and work in teams lining the rocks along the sides of the trail, picking weeds and disposing of trash, and planting daffodils that will bloom in the Spring. City of Victorville is hosting its next Community Cleanup on October 22. Volunteers work in teams at multiple locations to pick up litter from roadsides.  Volunteers receive a free event t-shirt (while supplies last) and coupons for a discounted lunch at participating local restaurants.  The City also provides volunteers with bottled water, gloves, trash bags, and litter sticks.  They also dispose of all the trash/litter collected.
