Holiday Fun Continues This Week Throughout the First District

Looking for some festive events to get you in the holiday spirit? Here are just a few going on throughout the week!

APPLE VALLEY

Join Santa as he lights up the Town of Apple Valley’s Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7. The community is invited to attend between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., taking part in the holiday cheer, live entertainment, giveaways, and photos with Santa.

Prior to the tree lighting, Apple Valley Civic Center Park will host its annual Santa Fun Run at 5 p.m. Registration is $15, and includes a race bib, Santa hat and hot cocoa. Deadline to register is Dec. 6, and check in begins at 4 p.m.

BARSTOW

The City of Barstow will host a special Harvey House Christmas from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 3. The event will include live music, holiday vendors, children’s activities and a special visit from Santa and his Elves. For more information, call (760) 256-5617.

HESPERIA

The annual Hesperia Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off at 5 p.m. Thursday at Civic Plaza Park. Letters to Santa may be dropped in Santa's special mailbox at the event. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Spark of Love. Please visit HesperiaParks.com for more information.

Hesperia High School will host its Winter Festival from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, complete with carnival games, cookie decorating, and free pictures with Santa. For more information, please call 760-244-9898.

PHELAN

The community of Phelan has several holiday events on tap, beginning with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3, at the Phelan Community Park, located at 4176 Warbler Road. More holiday fun follows with a holiday painting class (ages 7-12) on Dec. 11, and a holiday baking class on Dec. 18. RSVP for classes at 760-868-1212.  

Serrano High School’s Choir Department is hosting a Christmas Dinner Show from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5. The event will feature an evening of holiday cheer, festive food, and Christmas songs. VICTORVILLE 

City of Victorville’s Christmas Parade, titled “Honoring Santa's Healthcare Heroes,” is planned from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. The parade will take place on Seventh Street in Victorville between La Paz Drive and Forrest Avenue.

Later that evening, the Festival of Lights & Tree Lighting, will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall. For more information, visit VictorvilleCA.gov/Recreation or call (760) 245-5551.

Children are invited to drop off their letters to Santa at The North Pole mailbox inside Hook Community Center. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive a response from Jolly Saint Nick. Letters must be received by Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.

The San Bernardino County Fairgrounds is planning its Jolly Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. This free community event will include visits with Santa, train rides, crafts, and local vendors. 

NEEDLES
