Exciting news for the First District and all Route 66 fans! Road Runner's Retreat in Chambless is the recipient of the National Park Service's 2021 Route 66 Preservation cost-share grant.

The program provides grant assistance for historic preservation, research, oral history, interpretative, and educational projects related to historic Route 66.

Road Runner's Retreat will be using its grant funds to begin restoration efforts on its iconic 35-foot tall neon sign. A Gofundme drive has been created to assist with the rebuilding and restoration.
