The Hesperia Recreation & Park District is kicking off its popular summer concert series, "Hot August Nights," at 7 p.m. Friday, August 6, with the Albert Miranda Projkt.

The concert will take place at Hesperia’s Civic Plaza Park, and is free to the public. Rotary Club of the High Desert will be hosting a Beer Garden.

According to the band's Facebook page, Albert Miranda Projkt "is a diverse collection of musicians who love to play an electric, uptempo, funky, Chicago- and Texas-style blues genre. Influences are both old school and contemporary artists, from B.B. King to Dereck Trucks."
