CalTrans to begin $13.8M project in Victorville

On Tuesday, May 17, Caltrans District 8 will begin work on a $13.8 million safety project on State Route 18 (SR-18) from Amargosa Road to Cobalt Road near Victorville. The work will take place from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. Mondays-Fridays.

This project will include a raised curb median, widened roadway, and traffic signal at the Borego Road intersection. It is expected to be complete in November 2022.

Westbound lane #2 will be closed from Cobalt Road to Greenwood with the placement of plastic drums and channelizers during the project.

Potential impacts to commuters are as follows:

  • Amargosa Road to El Evado Road, both directions. One lane may be closed with one lane remaining open in each direction, Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Pacoima Road to Cobalt Road, both directions. One lane may be closed with one lane remaining open in each direction at any time of day or night for the duration of the project.
