Learn How to Garden in the Mojave Desert at These Two Community Events

The Community Stewardship Project of the High Desert will host a “Gardening in the Mojave” class from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Learn how to grow native plants, explore desert vegetable gardening, site and soil preparation and water-smart irrigation. The event will take place at Neville and Tammy Slade's Sustainable Design Home + The Sustainable Learning Center, located at 9780 Calico Road in Apple Valley. Victor Valley College’s Agriculture and Natural Resource Department is hosting a plant sale on Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21. Stock up on herbs, vegetables, landscape plants, house plants and succulents, while supplies last. The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. both days at the lower campus parking lot W, 18422 Bear Valley Rd., Victorville.
